I grew up in Peru as the son and grandson of American Christian missionaries speaking Spanish and feeling like I didn’t belong in any one place. From the time I was 11 through my higher education, I delved into the realm of fantasy literature inspired by C.S. Lewis’ Narnia and J.R.R. Tolkien. I carried that interest into my teaching career and even sponsored a club for like-minded students to create a place where they could belong. My growing family inspired me to create and share stories more. In 2025, I completed my first full-length draft of a novel and formed a writing group to edit and improve my skills. With the birth of my first son, I became a stay-at-home dad. I now have three sons, and finding time to write in this season has been a formidable opportunity for growth, but I know I am right where I belong.
